What is a Certified Nursing Assistant?
Certified Nursing Assistants are an important part of the health care community. CNAs take care of the sick and residents recuperating from disease. CNAs work in the following facilities: skilled nursing facilities, rehabilitation, medical offices, hospitals and home health care. CNAs work under the supervision of an LVN, RN and physicians. Aspiring nursing assistants must complete the mandatory educational requirements set forth by California Department of Public Health. The nurse assistant must complete the required course before they can take the Nursing Assistant Training and Competency Evaluation.

ONLINE Nursing Assistant Program-Approved up to 04/01/2025
The ONLINE Nursing Assistant Program at Atrium School Incorporated located in 21415 Normandie Ave, Torrance, California is a 27-day program, 7-8 hours per day Monday to Friday. Theory consists of 17 modules and has to be finished in 8 days. Modules must be completed in order. The clinical is in person and done at Harbor Care Center from 7:00AM- 3:30PM for 13 days supervised by a licensed Registered Nurse. The school uses the canvasinstucture.com website for daily school activities. The student requires a Mac or Windows computer with Zoom and Canvas Instructure capabilities to do classwork. Canvas access will be given upon enrollment. How to use the canvas website will be demonstrated during the orientation. Students must complete the minimum of 60 theory hours and 100 hours of clinical training and state testing approved by California Department of Health and Human Services. A passing grade is 76% for Atrium Nursing School.

- Laptop webcam. If you do not have a webcam, you can install Zoom on your phone and use your phone’s webcam.
